This device appears in your inventory when you activate C4 [[Plastic Explosives]]. Each of these is tied to only one specific C4, so if you activate five C4s, then you get five of these remote controls. It disappears again once you use it.

The range on a remote detonator is 40 [[Sight|hexes]]. If you attempt to use a Field Switch, aka '''Remote Detonator''', while beyond it's range, you'll get a "''*click*click*''" text message telling you that you're too far away from the [[Plastic Explosives]]. Thus you cannot detonate C4 from [[The World]] map.
