==Overview==
Talk with [[Mere]] to get a job running 3 heavy [[Water Barrel]]s, one to each of 3 different towns:
*In [[Broken Hills]], deliver to [[Marcus]] (main entrance)
*In [[Den]], deliver to [[Frankie]] in his bar, '''The Hole''' (east side)
*In [[San Francisco]], deliver to [[Lao Chou]] in his shop (main entrance)

You have the option of running 1 barrel at a time, or taking all 3 at once. The problem is, they are heavy, so if your [[Strength]] is less than 8, you likely will be walking for at least the first leg of the journey, even if you shed all your other gear. Of course, you can use [[Drugs]] to mitigate this.

You can deliver the barrels in any order, but most people go straight north to [[Broken Hills]] first since it's the closest.

This job is a great way to get [[XP]] since it pays well, especially if you use a [[Vehicles|car]]. It requires using no ammo (except for [[SEC|fuel for your car]], and earns you some [[Caps]] along the way.

==Hints and tips==
Like most things this quest can be made slightly less painful and actually extremely viable. But there's also the dialog placement to watch out for.

===Efficiency===
For optimal efficiency, it's best to use one of the [[Vehicles]] and have a [[Tent|safe parking place]] at each of the delivery points, as well as [[Hub]]. Bring some [[Tool]]s and some [[SEC]] to keep your car going.

===Graphical issues===
A "[[Water Barrel]]" item might appear as a [[Box|Caravan Box]] when dropped on the ground, and might not appear in your [[Inventory]] correctly at all, or as an invisible item. If invisible, they are still there and can still be delivered - you just need to run the game's updater so your client can obtain the proper image file.

===Tricky dialog placement===
When you've delivered all 3 [[Water Barrel]]s, go back to [[Hub]] and talk with [[Mere]] to get paid. Be careful to choose '''option 2''' in dialogue to get paid. If you choose option 1, you tell him you lost the barrels. In that case you do ''not'' get paid.

===Inconsequential failure===
You can lose as many crates as you want or happen to, no problem, it's inconsequential. Even when you are [[Reputation|hated]] by the water merchants you can still do this job.

===Mistakenly reported that you lost the barrels===
If you deliver some, or all crates, but tell [[Mere]] you lost them, the NPCs you successfully delivered to in that waterrun will refuse to accept more crates. In that case get 3 new crates, deliver the ones you still need to and discard the others. Ignore the NPCs that don't accept crates. Go back to Mere and choose dialog option 2 ''That was quite the haul! But I'm done. Where's my money?'' as if nothing happened. You then can normally continue your waterruns.
